DUSHANBE , March 28, Asia-Plus - Monday [March 27] evening, a Tajik government delegation left for Beijing for a three-day working visit. 

The delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Asadullo Ghulomov consists of Economy and Trade Minister Hakim Soliyev, Finance Minister Safarali Najmiddinov and Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) Murodali Alimardonov.  

According to information from the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the main purpose of the visit is for the delegation to discuss with the Chinese side issues related to investment cooperation between Tajikistan and China .  

During the visit the delegation is scheduled to hold a number of talks with the Chinese government, top managers of China ’s “EximBank” and senior representatives from the Chinese ministry of commerce.  

The meetings will focus on conditions of drumming up preferential loans in Tajikistan ’s economy under China ’s commitment to provide US$900 million to ember nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.  These funds were provided by China last year, according the source.  

“For implementing the main projects there ought to come to an agreement on bilateral basis on concrete projects and concrete sum, which would go to providing implementation of that or this project,” the source said.  

According to information received, Tajikistan proposed to finance the projects aimed at the construction of the Shahriston tunnel, several small hydropower plants on the Zarafshon River and power-transmission line.
