Center for demining dogs opens in Tajik capital today

, April 4, Asia-Plus - A center for demining dogs is officially opening in
Dushanbe
today.
According to information from the Tajik Mine Action Cell (TMAC), a kennel-opening ceremony is timed to coincide with International Anti-landmine Aid Day, which is marked today.
The cannel constructed under financial support of the
OSCE
Center
in
Dushanbe
is placed on the territory of the Defense Ministry engineer battalion.
“Twelve demining dogs have been purchased from
Germany
and are currently trained in the Afghan capital,
Kabul
,” the TMAC source said, noting that the dogs will set to work in four months.
