’s Islamic Revival Party for the northern district of Isfara has perished under the incomprehensible in circumstances.
According to information from the headquarters of the Islamic Revival Party (IRPT) in
Dushanbe
, a 45-year-old activist of the IRPT organization for the northern district of Isfara Sadullo Marupov was detained by local police on May 3. “We today knew that Sadullo Marupov perished at allegedly falling from the third floor of the building of the Isfara police directorate,” Qiyomiddin Avazov, an official with the IRPT administration, said.
“The party leadership does not believe in this allegation and states that Sadullo Marupov, who was renown for his piety, could not commit suicide,” Mr. Avazov said.
The IRPT intends to send Vohidkhon Qosiddinov, head of office of the IRPT leader, to the Isfara district within the next few days to study the circumstances of death of the party activist.
The Islamic Revival Party of Tajikistan is the only Islamic party registered in CIS Central Asia. It has more than 24,000 members.
