DUSHANBE, May 18, Asia-Plus -- A Tajik energy delegation led by Energy Minister Abdullo Yorov has left for St. Petersburg to attend a session of the CIS Energy Council that will open on May 19.  The Tajik delegation consists of Sharifkhon Samiyev, the head of the “Barqi Tojik” (Tajik electric system) open joint-stock holding company, and other energy officials. 

According to information from the Ministry of Energy, more than 30 issues, including regulation of generation and transit supply of electric power, have been tabled to the session’s agenda.  

Participants at the meeting also will elect new deputy head of the CIS Energy Council.  Former Tajik Energy Minister Jurabek Nurmahmadov had previously held this post.   

On the sidelines of the CIS Energy Council session in S. Petersburg, members of the Tajik delegation also intend to hold bilateral meetings with their colleagues from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
