DUSHANBE, May 24, Asia-Plus -- A joint operation by Tajik border troops and officers from the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) has led to seizure of a large amount of drugs at the Tajik-Afghan border in the Farkhor district of Khatlon.
Avaz Yuldoshev, a spokesman for the DCA, has told Asia-Plus a 35-year-old Afghan Allobakhsh valadi Qodirbakhsh, resident of the Afghan province of Takhor, was detained when eh was illegally crossing the border river in the Farkhor district late Tuesday.
35 kilograms of drugs were confiscate from him, according to the DCA spokesman. The totaled included 5 kilograms of heroin 20 kilograms of raw opium and 10 kilograms of marijuana.
Investigation is under way.
