DUSHANBE, June 8, Asia-Plus -- The 1 st International Industrial Exhibition “InterLegProm-2006” (light industry) opened at the “Kokhi Vahdat” State Complex in Dushanbe on June 8, according to information from Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).

Mr. Dilshod Mirsaidov, chief specialists with CCI department for international ties, has told Asia-Plus that Tajikistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, as well as India and Turkey are taking part in this exhibition.  The exhibition consists of eight sections, including cotton growing, silkworm-breeding, production carpets, hosiery, etc.   

Companies from these countries have put on display their achievements in production of textiles, carpets, silkworm-breeding and relevant industries in the fair in Dushanbe.

The exhibition staged by Tajik CCI under support of Tajikistan’s Government and Industries Ministry runs through June 11.  

24 Tajik textile companies and enterprises such as open joint-stock company (OJSC) “Textile”, stocking-making factory “Nafisa”, “Tojikatlas”, “Carpets of Qairoqqum”, OJSC “Zinnat”, closed joint-stock company (CJSC) “KhujandInvestCotton”, joint venture “Javoni”, CJSC “Guliston”, and OJSC “Suman”, have displayed their products in the exhibition.  

According to figures provided by the State Committee for Statistics, at present 144 enterprises of light industry are operating in Tajikistan.
