DUSHANBE, September 4, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s business center headed by known Tajik businessman and public figure Shamsiddin Khushvakhtov has opened in Moscow.

“As businessman I have frequently met with businesspeople both from Tajikistan and the Russian Federation,” said Mr. Khushvakhtov, “In the course of these talks I have found out that persons interested in establishment of business partnership do not have enough information on those or other firms and organizations.  Each of them has got information through the third persons, and that information quite frequently proved to be apocryphal.  Therefore I have decided to establish a single center, at which those interested could get necessary information.”

“Our center continues traditions of charity that were launched by the “Somoniyon” association,” said Khushvakhtov, “Besides, the center will be a place for meeting of businessmen; we also plan to hold various business forums with participation of Tajik and Russian businesspeople.”

Another direction of the center’s activity will be attraction of Russian investments to Tajikistan, according to him.

“Tajikistan is rich in natural resources,” said Khushvakhtov, “Of course, we are not going to target any ambitious projects such as financing of the construction of hydropower facilities, but we could facilitate projects aimed at opening of offices of known Russian companies in Tajikistan.”  “For example, I recently met senior representatives from one known Russian company dealing with supply of components for satellite and cellular communications, which plans to open its office in Dushanbe.”

Mr. Khushvakhtov also added that the center also would focus on providing practical assistance to Tajik labor migrants.
