DUSHANBE, November 3, Asia-Plus - Compared to January-October 2005 remittances by labor migrants to AgroInvestBonk have increased by 24 percent, Samandar Haidarov, the head of the department for retail services within AgroInvestBonk, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, more than 500,000 Tajik nationals staying outside the country have remitted more than 270 million US dollars, more than 40 million Russian rubles and 682,500 euros to AgroInvestBonk so far this year. Haidarov noted that nearly 99 percent of those persons are labor migrants.
“Annually, more than 2,000 people receive remittances totaling US$ 2 million via our bank,” Haidarov said, adding that 2,222,686 people have received remittances totaling more than US$900 million via AgroInvestBonk since 2001.
