DUSHANBE, February 14, Asia-Plus - An official opening of two renovated departments provided with up-to-date medical equipment was held at Children’s Surgical Hospital in Dushanbe on February 14.
Recovery and surgical department of the hospital were renovated to due a $83,400 grant awarded by the Government of Japan last year. The Dushanbe budget provided 157,319 somonis for purchasing medical equipment and furniture for the hospital.
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that two other departments of the hospital will have been renovated this year. “Repairing works have already been launched and are supposed to have been completed by the end of the year,” the spokesman said, adding that Dushanbe authorities provided 30,000 somonis for this purpose. Besides, it is planned to attract funds from donors, according to him.
The city children’s surgical hospital with 75 beds was constructed in 1934.
