DUSHANBE, February 27, Asia-Plus - Rehabilitation of the Pamir-1 hydropower plant began with the first orders for parts and services being sent to specific suppliers in Tajikistan and Russia who provided the original equipment, Mahedi Lalani, Head of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs PamirEnergy (Pamir Energy Company), told Asia-Plus today.
PamirEnergy engineers working with experts from Russia and Europe dismantled and examined the unit, following which they compiled the lists of parts required to rehabilitate generator number four.
Following the accidental flooding of the Pamir-1 power plant of PamirEnergy on February 5, four electric power generators were entirely engulfed by floodwaters destroying and damaging all the equipment.
The early identification of essential parts and equipment needing replacement has helped accelerate the rehabilitation process, with PamirEnergy management identifying suppliers and availability dates.
The process of rehabilitation continues to be expedited by a team of experts, including those who initially participated in the capacity expansion/rehabilitation of the power plant together with PamirEnergy engineers.
Copies of part lists and purchase orders were also sent to the First Deputy Prime Minister’s office for his assistance in expediting the procurement. The timing of the delivery of parts is extremely critical if PamirEnergy is to rehabilitate unit four expeditiously.
