DUSHANBE, April 7, Asia-Plus, - A visit of Education Minister Abdujabbor Rahmonov to Moscow resulted in signing of a series of education cooperation agreements on April 4. 

Noilsho Nouraliyev, a spokesman for the ministry of education (MoE), said that Abdujabbor Ramonov and his Russian counterpart, Aleksandr Fursenko, had discuss a broad range of issues related to further expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.  

Their talks ended with signing of eight agreements on cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia in the field of education.  They, in particular, signed an agreement on increase in a quota for Tajik students studying at higher educational institutions in the Russian Federation.  The ministers also inked agreements on raising professionalism of teachers of the Russian language in Tajikistan and providing Tajik educational facilities with textbooks and other educational supplies, conditions of activity of lyceum at Russian-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU) in Dushanbe, etc.  

The spokesman said that Russian Minister of Education and Science Aleksandr Fursenko is expected to arrive in Tajikistan on May 4 for a two-day working visit.  During his stay in Dushanbe, the Russian minister will attend a ceremony of opening of the lyceum at RTSU in Dushanbe.
