KHUJAND, April 9, Asia-Plus - The executive committee of organization of the People’s Democratic Party (PDPT) for Sughd has established awards for young researchers working with higher educational institutions in the province.
An April 7 meeting of the PDPT organization for Sughd presided over by its head Qosim Qosimov discussed issues related to supporting enhancement of science and education in northern Tajikistan.
Based on a special commission submissions and recommendations young researchers and post-graduate students will be selected as prize winners for their achievements made in research works and articles published in the Tajik central as well as international scientific journals.
This year, the party will hand over six awards for achievements in humanities and four awards for achievements in exact sciences. The award of 500 somonis will be handed over together with the certificate annually, on the eve of Day of Youth, which is marked in Tajikistan on May 23.
Qosimov noted that funds for the awards will be provided from the membership fees ad other incomes.
158 post-graduate students and persons working for degree of doctor have to date been registered in Sughd.
