DUSHANBE, June 20, Asia-Plus -- Over the first five months of the year, a volume of remittances to open joint-stock company AgroInvestBonk, one of Tajikistan’s largest commercial banks, has increased by 40 percent.
The source at AgroInvestBonk said that $16.375 million have been remitted to the bank over the report period. “In May alone, $41 million were remitted to the bank,” the source said.
A number of remittance recipients has also increased. “In January-May, 247,511 people received remittances via our bank,” the source said, noting that the Russian Federation accounts for 90 percent of remittances to AgroInvestBonk over the same five-month period.
The source added that the bank daily services not less than 2,000 people, and the daily amount of remittances via their bank fluctuates from $2.5 million to $3 million.
Founded in 1992, AgroInvestBonk, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has main branches in Khorog, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa and 57 other branches across the republic. AgroInvestBonk’s declared capital includes 270,000 shares, valued at 27 million somonis. The face value of one share is 100 somonis.
