DUSHANBE, June 26, Asia-Plus -- On Monday June 25, President Emomali Rahmon met with visiting European Union Special Representative to Central Asia Pierre Morel.
According to presidential press service, their talks focused on state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Union.
In the course of the talks Mr. Morel noted that Tajikistan had made a considerable progress in strengthening of peace, stability, creation of favorable conditions for economic development and establishment of civil society, presidential press service said.
The EU special envoy to Central Asia also noted that work on the new strategy of the European Union strategy for Central Asia is nearing completion and it will be signed in the presence of the Central Asian foreign ministers before the end of the current month, according to presidential press service.
