DUSHANBE, July 23, Asia-Plus — Abduahad Ashourov, formerly head of the limited liability company Doro, has been elected to head TojikSodirotBonk (TSB), replacing Izatullo Lalbekov.    

According to TSB press service, an extraordinary meeting of bank’s shareholders was held in Dushanbe on Saturday, July 21.  The meeting relieved Lalbekov of his post of chairman of TSB’s administration and elected Abduahad Ashourov as new chairman of TSB’s administration, who had previously also been chairman of the TSB board of directors.  Tojiddin Pirov was elected as chairman of TSB’s board of directors.  

According to TSB’s head office,  banks’ net profit has amounted to 5 million somonis over the first six months of this year, which is 2.6 percent more than in the same period of 2006.  Since the beginning of the year, TSB’s regulative capital has increased by 10 million somonis, reaching 58 million somonis.

Over the report period, the issued share capital of TSB has increased by 10 million somonis and amounted, as of July 1, 2007, to 45 million somonis.  

TSB was established in December 1990 as the Tajik branch of the Vnesh Econom Bank of the former Soviet Union, and it initially specialized in trade and import-export banking.  Later this branch was reorganized into a Joint-Stock Commercial Bank “Tajikvnesheconombank”. In June 1999 the bank was renamed and registered as TojikSodirotBonk or TSB.

Headquartered in Dushanbe, TSB has 9 branches in the main cities of Tajikistan and covering all regions of the country. Its clients include the biggest Tajik trading companies, other enterprises, entrepreneurs, and some of the embassies and diplomatic organizations based in Dushanbe.
