DUSHANBE, September 12, Asia-Plus – Interfax – The CIS border troops commanders have gathered in the Kazakh capital city of Astana to discuss prospects of further expansion of cooperation in protection of borders, Russia’s news agency Interfax said.
According to Tajik border service, Tajik border troops commander, Major-General Sherali Miraliyev together with his counterparts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan are discussing a number of issues related to the present situation on borders of the CIS member nations and summing up the results of work carried out by the council of the CIS border troops commanders this year.
The meeting participants are also supposed to consider draft agreement on combating documentary fraud as well as discuss a plan of actions designed for 2008 and some other issues.
The meeting will also discuss a progress of implementation of the concept of concerted border policy of the CIS member nations projected for 2007-2010.
