DUSHANBE, November 16, Asia-Plus -- A suspicious box was revealed at the bus stop in the center of Dushanbe, not far from the presidential palace, yesterday evening.
A source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that after they received report about the suspicious box police had cordoned off the area and suppers were sent to the site to check the box.
Fortunately, the alarm proved to be false. “Experts checked the box and no dangerous items were found in it,” the source said.
We will recall that the explosion occurred in the rear yard of the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex Wednesday morning, at around 8:10 a.m. The blast was quite powerful that it blew out the windows of Kokhi Vahdat complex.
The source at the Ministry of Interior told Asia-Plus that the explosion had occurred when the Kokhi Vahdat guard picked up a plastic bag outside the Kokhi Vahdat. The guard was killed by the explosion. Tajik authorities said that the explosion was a terrorist act and the country’s law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation under a corresponding article of the Criminal Code.
