DUSHANBE, December 5, Asia-Plus -- Sharif Said, the head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), yesterday met with visiting director of the National Petroleum Services Co. (Napesco) in Egypt Sami Imam Kamil Al-Nahha, information posted on the CCI website said.
In the course of the talks the two discussed sectors of Tajikistan’s economy, which need investments.
Sharif Said, in particular, outlined sectors like energy, mining, housing, road-building, light industry, and tourism as areas of which could drive cooperation between the company and Tajik entrepreneurs. He especially invited the Egyptian company’s investments in light industry, including processing of cotton, leather and wool.
“Tajikistan needs new technologies and equipment, and these issues could be resolved through launching joint ventures,” the CCI head said.
For hi part, Sami Imam Kamil Al-Nahha was interested in participation of his company in creation of tourism infrastructure as well as construction of small power plants and cement plant in Tajikistan, CCI said.
