DUSHANBE, January 16, Asia-Plus – Moscow authorities plan to create the “Single Migration Window” in the city and issue electronic “Guest Card” to foreign citizens arriving in Moscow in search of better employment opportunities, Aleksei Aleksandrov, head of the Moscow department for interregional ties and nationality policy, remarked at a briefing in Moscow on January 16, according to Prime TASS.
According to him, the “single migration window” means a network of centers of Russia’s Federal Migration Service (FMS) for registration of migrants. The Moscow official noted that the “single migration window” will have been created by summer. The centers will also resolve issues related to settling arriving migrants. It is supposed to construct a chain of simplified hotels for migrants with the estimated rate of 50-70 Russian rubles (RR) per day.
Registration of persons arriving in Moscow will be conducted through the single database that will be created this year. Besides, all migrants arriving in Moscow will be provided with special electronic “guest cards” which will contain data about the visitor.
Aleksandrov added that they also plan to establish labor exchanges in donor countries. “They will carry out the primary selection of workers,” said the official, “We have already conducted negotiations on this subject with the Tajik Embassy in Moscow and Kyrgyz authorities, and they have supported our proposals.”
