DUSHANBE, February 28, Asia-Plus -- On February 26-27, Education Minister Abdujabbor Rahmonov was a working visit to Khatlon’s Shahritus district to get acquainted with state of the education sector there.
Gulandom Azimova, the deputy head of the Shahritus district, said that during his stay in Shahritus, the minister had visited a number of educational facilities. According to her, Rahmonov hailed local authorities efforts to renovate and construct schools.
“Last year alone, six new schools and five classes were constructed in Shahritus,” the deputy head said, noting that construction of another school will commence in the district today.
All schools in the district are provided with computers, Azimova said.
She added that 58 general schools now function in the district. “Last year, 11 school buildings to accommodate totaling 2,410 pupils were constructed in Shahritus during last year,” said Azimova. “1.38 million somonis allocated by local budget, farming units and parents have gone to constructing these buildings.”
