DUSHANBE, March 3, Asia-Plus –  Russian First Vice Prime Minister has said that he will pay his first foreign visit in the capacity if the country’s president to a country of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Answering journalists’ questions at his election headquarters on Monday the official noted: “We have repeatedly stressed that relations with CIS states are the main foreign political priority for Russia,” therefore he will pay his first visit on the post of the head of state to a Commonwealth country.

Touching upon the country’s foreign policy priorities Medvedev noted, “We should pursue an independent foreign policy course,” the same as the country has been pursuing over the past eight years, “its main sense is to protect the Russian interests in all directions.”
