DUSHANBE, March 6, Asia-Plus -- A number of Tajik political parties are currently negotiating an adoption of a joint anti-crisis statement, Rahmatullo Valiyev, the deputy head of the Democratic Party (DPT), said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, DPT yesterday applied to all political parties officially functioning in Tajikistan, proposing to prepare and make the joint statement.
“With coming of spring and end of an energy crisis we have not seen any positive changes in the life of the population,” said Valiyev, “It means that the crisis that hit the country in early February because of unprecedently cold weather has assumed mass and long character. The government has been at a deadlock and therefore, we have to combine our efforts to find a way out of this situation.”
He added that the statement would make an emphasis on economic aspects.
In the meantime, another opposition party – Social-Democratic Party (SDPT) – last week assessed the present situation in the country as “systematic crisis.”
