DUSHANBE, April 9, Asia-Plus - A new Tajik-language weekly will be published in Tajikistan – Manu Tu (Me and You).
The weekly was registered with the Ministry of Culture (MoC) on March 18, 2008, and the first Manu Tu edition is expected to be brought out in late April.
The Manu Tu editor, Ms. Muhayo Nozimova, said that it will be a social and light newspaper catering mainly for youth. The weekly will cover problems facing Tajik youth and issues related to raising their social status, the editor said.
“The newspaper has its staff reporter in the United States,” said Nozimova. “Tajik young journalist Nargis Bozorova who is currently studying in Chicago will write for our weekly.”
She added that Manu Tu also plans to set up correspondent’s network in India and Pakistan from among Tajik students studying in those countries.
The founder of the weekly is the Center for Journalistic Investigations and at first it will have a circulation of a 1,000.
