DUSHANBE , May 8, Asia-Plus  - The Ministry of Interior (MoI) official told Asia-Plus on May 8 that they have arrested persons who were allegedly trafficking persons to the Russian Federation for labor bondage.    

The source at a MoI said that Ms. Salima Muhiddinova, director of closed joint-stock company Vostokfarm, acting in collusion with resident of Qurghon Teppa, Khatlon province Burhon Sharipov has illegally sent 100 people to the Russian Federation .    

“Showing them fictitious contract allegedly concluded with one of enterprises in the Russian Federation, Muhiddinova promised them jobs with monthly wages from $500 to $700, and she collected $100 from each of migrants for so-called “official employment,” said the source, “In actual fact, she did not have any labor contact with any Russian company.”

According to him, criminal proceedings have been instituted against Salima Muhiddinova under the provisions of Article 130 of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code – kidnapping.
