DUSHANBE, May 15, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan is expected to take part at China Harbin Fair that will open in Harbin on June 15, Asia-Plus has learned at Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).
The source at CCI said that that issue had been discussed at meeting of the CCI head Sharif Said with visiting Chinese delegation led by Izyen Ewu (phonetically spelled), the deputy secretary general of the people’s government of China’s Heilung-Kiang Province.
In the course of the talks, the sides also considered the possibility of China’s investing in development of mining and processing industries in Tajikistan. Chinese representatives were also interested in participation in construction of small and medium-sized power plants in Tajikistan, according to the source.
The sides also discussed construction of a cement plant and launch of joint venture for repairing China-made motorcars and tractors in Tajikistan.
During the meeting, it was noted that entrepreneurs from the Heilung-Kiang province had invested in construction of the brickworks in Tajikistan’s Hissor district.
Sharif Said proposed to hold an exhibition of goods of the Heilung-Kiang Province in Tajikistan. The sides agreed to hold the exhibition in September or October this year.
China Harbin Fair for Trade and Economic Cooperation (China Harbin Fair), one of the largest international fairs in China authorized by China government, is held on June 15th every year in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province. It has been successfully held 1990. The fair is highly appreciated by businessmen from other domestic provinces and many countries and regions in the world.
