KULOB, May 19, Asia-Plus  -- Over the first four months of this year, 348 new cases of tuberculosis have been registered in Khatlon’s Kulob region, which is 46 cases more than in the same period of last year, according to the Kulob Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision.

The source at the Kulob Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision said that the average TB rate in the region has increased from 32 per 100,000 to 36.3 per 100,000, while in some districts, it now exceeds even more than 50 per 1000,000. 

Thus, the city and the district of Kulob, 105 new cases of tuberculosis have been revealed over the report period, and the TB rate there is now 59 per 100,000, the source said.  The lowest TB rate has been reported in the Khovaling district – 4.5 per 100,000. 

The Kulob region groups ten districts, and new TB cases have been registered in all of them.  “In May alone, the Vose district had 95 new cases, Temourmalik – 27 cases, Danghara and Farkhor – 27 cases each, Shuroobod and Hamadoni – 21 cases each, Muminobod – 17 cases, Baljuvon – 5 cases and Khovaling – 2 cases,” the source said.  :
