DUSHANBE, May 22, Asia-Plus -- An official opening of CISCO Net Academy within the framework of the Information Program of the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF) will be held in Dushanbe on May 23.
Ms. Yelena Akhmedova, PR specialist, Tajik Branch of OSI/AF, said that CISCO Net Academy will be opened in Dushanbe at the Center of Information and Communication Technologies. “Students of information and communication departments and ICT specialists will be enrolled at the Academy,” Ms. Akhmedova said.
According to her, the Academy will help to teach international standards and train highly qualified specialists in the field of net technologies and telecommunications inside Tajikistan.
Representatives of ministries and departments, banks, heads of higher educational institutions, leading Internet and mobile providers of Tajikistan and other institutions of the country will attend the opening ceremony.
The main goal of the Academy is to increase professionalism of training specialists in the field of net technologies and telecommunications through providing IT Essentials courses (Basics of Information Technologies I, II) and CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
According to the data of the World economic forum, Tajikistan is the 98th among 127 countries of world in the information technologies development rating (www.ca-news.org). Even now many Tajik companies and state institutions need qualified staff with deep knowledge of modern net information technologies. The demand for specialists will grow along with the ICT development in Tajikistan. The Babilon-T and MLT companies, and also some representatives of Telecom-Technology and some banks have already applied to CISCO Academy for professional development courses for their staff.
The methodology used at CISCO Academy will help listeners to master the theoretical knowledge about net technologies and develop the skills of applying modern net equipment.
The CISCO Networking Academy Program will provide its learners with the latest information in the field of Internet. It shows how Internet could be used for training students integrating evaluation of students’ knowledge with the learning process. The Program will also help to learn the new skills of using net and information technologies in the state and private economy sector, in the field of design, construction and service of data transmission networks.
