DUSHANBE, June 3, Asia-Plus -- Health Minister Nusratullo Salimov has been to Cairo, Egypt since June 1 for a weeklong series of discussions with Egyptian health authorities on how to expand bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Egypt in the field of health care, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH) .
The source at a MoH said that Salimov has, in particular, discussed with senior representatives of the Egyptian company Delta Pharma the launch of a joint pharmaceutical enterprise in Tajikistan.
Salimov’s visit to Egypt is expected to result in signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Tajikistan and Egypt on cooperation in the field o health care. The memorandum aims to promote expansion of cooperation between the two countries in enhancing health sector in Tajikistan, preventing, diagnosing and treating infectious and other diseases in Tajikistan, training medical specialists and pharmaceutical chemists for Tajikistan, the source said.
