KULOB, June 5, Asia-Plus -- Deputy Prime Minister, Murodali Alimardon, and Agriculture Minister, Qosim Qosimov, visited a number of farming units in Khatlon’s Kulob district on June 4.
According to the Kulob mayor’s office, the aim of their visit to the district was to get acquainted with activities of farming units Khatlon, Hamadoni, Sabz, as well as cooperative society Rahbar Qosimov dealing with cotton-growing and animal husbandry.
During meetings with farmers, they discussed problems facing local farms, the source at the Kulob mayor’s office said.
This year, the Kulob district has planted cotton on an area of 4,500 hectares and plans to yield some 10,000 tons of raw cotton.
