DUSHANBE, June 11, Asia-Plus -- Another Afghan drug trafficker has been detained by drug police in the southern Khatlon province.
According to press service of the Ministry of Interior (MoI), an operation by officers from the Interior Ministry directorate for combating drug trafficking (drug police) led to the arrest of Afghan drug trafficker in Khatlon’s Farkhor district on June 7.
More than 19 kilograms of heroin and 14.3 kilograms of marijuana were confiscated from the drug trafficker, who proved to be resident of the Afghan province of Takhor, Sirojiddin valadi Fayzboy.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the Afghan drug trafficker under the provisions of two article of Tajikistan’s Penal Code: Article 200 (drug trafficking) and Article 335 (illegal border crossing).
