DUSHANBE, June 19, Asia-Plus -- Police officers have discovered a drug cache containing a large amount of hashish in the southern Khatlon province.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the drug cache was discovered near the village of Yol in Khatlon’s Shuroobod district on June 18. 146.9 kilograms of hashish were extracted from the hide.
The preliminary investigation has established that the hashish belongs to the 35-year-old Afghan national Mathisai (phonetically spelled) valadi Mahmadhasan, the source at a MoI said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted on drug-trafficking charges and an investigation is under way.
