QURGHON TEPPA, June 23, 2008, Asia-Plus  -- A mini plant for producing natural juices and other soft drinks has been launched in Khatlon’s Shahritus district.

The Shahritus chairman Kholmahmad Rahmonov told Asia-Plus on Monday that the workshop will produce three types of juices from local fruits and four types of soft drinks from concentrates.  The plant’s capacity is some 10 tons of products per day, the district head said.

According to him, Shahritus had a good harvest of apricots this year and it was decided to build workshop for processing fruits.  The plant has created 12 new jobs and its products will be realized at reasonable prices – 0.85 diram for 1.5-liter bottle of juice.      

Rahmonov noted that the juice-producing workshop had been built due to funds of labor migrants.   at the expense of due funds provided at expenses.  “We are working actively with labor migrants, showing them ways how they could use their money,” said the Shahritus chairman.  “Investing in construction of the plant, they both have profit from its activity and promote development of the district’s economy.”
