DUSHANBE, June 24, Asia-Plus -- A session of the council of the CIS state permanent representatives to different CIS bodies has opened at the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk, Belarus.
Ms. Maria Gutsalo, a spokeswoman for the CIS Executive Committee, noted that the session is discussing proposals on making changes and addenda to the CIS Charter with regard to the CIS further development concept.
According to her, amendments to the CIS Charter are provided for by the Plan of Main Actions for Implementation of the Concept.
“We have already received proposals from Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, and Russia,” said Ms. Gutsalo. “Thus, Armenia has made proposals concerning migration cooperation and financing of the CIS bodies, while Russia considers it unreasonable to make changes and addenda to the Charter before adoption of documents on mechanisms of functioning of the CIS and organizational improvement of it and proposes to return to this issue at the final stage of implementation of the Plan.”
