DUSHANBE, June 24, Asia-Plus -- A grain-harvesting campaign is progressing in Tajikistan and grain growers have harvested 62,326 tons of cereals, including 60,200 tons of wheat, by June 23, which is 22,251 tons more than by the same date of last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).
This year, Tajik grain growers have planted cereals on an are of 291,447 hectares. The have harvested cereals from 42,376 hectares by June 23.
Narzullo Dadoboyev, a spokesman for a MoA, said that average grain yields have amounted to 1.95 tons per hectare.
