DUSHANBE, July 3, 2008, Asia-Plus -- A joint operation by officers from the mobile counternarcotics unit of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) and border guards led to the discovery of a large drug cache in GBAO’s Murgab district on July 2, according to the DCA source.
Two packages containing 20.992 kilograms of hashish were extracted from the hide.
The same day, another large drug cache was discovered in Murgab. Three packages containing raw opium and hashish weighing totaling 65.314 kilograms were extracted from the cache.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted on drug-trafficking charge and an investigation is under way.
