DUSHANBE, July 9, 2008, Asia-Plus -- A ceremony of presentation of a model of registration of patients and services with use of unique identification code (UIC) while providing anonymous medical aid is being held in Dushanbe today.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Public Health program assistant Bakhtiyor Tourayev said that the presentation is staged by the working group at the Ministry of Health (MoH) as part of the USAID-funded Drug Demand Reduction Project (DDRP).
“The Unique Identification Code is the unique database index key, which does not allowed unauthorized persons to known whom it belongs to,” Tourayev said, noting that it is important in work with drug-dependent persons and HIV sufferers.
The presentation ceremony is expected to be attended by representatives of a MoH, Drug Control Agency (DCA), Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MoLSP), Center for Medical Statistics and Information, Center for Healthy Lifestyle, Republican Narcology Center, Republican AIDS/HIV-Prevention Center, as well local and international NGOs.
