DUSHANBE, July 10, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Officers from the mobile within the Drug Control Agency (DCA) jointly with border guards have discovered a large drug cache in the Murgab district, Gorno Badakhshan.
According to the Tajik counternarcotics agency, the drug cache containing more than 20 kilograms of drugs was discovered in the village of Qarasou on July 9. 9.2 kilograms of hashish and more than 10.8 kilograms of raw opium were extracted from the hide.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted on drug-trafficking charges and an investigation is under way.
We will recall that two large drug caches with totaling more than 85 kilograms were discovered in the Murgab district last week.
