DUSHANBE, July 10, 2008, Asia-Plus -- A two-day seminar formally titled “Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO): Expansion, Problems and Prospects” has opened in Dushanbe.
Staged by the Information-Analytical Center, Sepehr, under support of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan, the seminar has brought together researchers and experts from Tajikistan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan, as well as Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan to discuss different aspects of activities of the SCO.
Thus, Professor Hojimuhammad Umarov, head of department of the Institute for Economic Studies within the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT), is giving a paper on the subject of “Trade and Economic Relations between SCO Member Nations: Problems and Opportunities.”
