DUSHANBE, July 11, 2008, Asia-Plus  -- Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) intends to increase the number of its members to 400, the CCI head Sharif Said remarked at a press conference in Dushanbe on July 11. 

According to him, the CCI currently has more than 360 organizations and enterprises among its members. 

Over the last three months, the Chamber has rendered 806,300 somonis worth of services, which is 29 percent more than it was originally planned.   

“One of main directions of our activity is granting licenses and certificates of origin of goods,” said Sharif Said.  “At request of domestic and foreign companies, we chekc imported and exported goods against the list.”  

He said that over the past three months, the chamber has granted more than 3,600 certificates and 27 licenses.   

“As of July 1, 2008, the CCI has signed 179 agreements with chambers f commerce and industry from the CIS and other foreign countries,” Sharif Said said, noting that the CCI now has 48 representatives in other countries.
