DUSHANBE, August 2, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Officers from the Interior Ministry directorate for combating drug trafficking (drug police) burned 270 kilograms of drugs on August 1, according to press service of the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The totaled included 134 kilograms of heroin, more than 108 kilograms of raw opium, and some 28 kilograms of cannabis.
The drugs were confiscated in the course of 2007-2008, the press service said.
This was the second such drug burning in 2008. We will recall that drug police burned 542 kilograms of drugs, including 103 kilograms of heroin, 103 kilograms of cannabis, and 239 kilograms of raw opium in April.
