DUSHANBE, August 6, 2008, Asia-Plus  -- Over the first six months of this year, net profit of Eskhata Bank has amounted to more than 4 million somonis (equivalent to more than 1.166 million US dollars), which is 71 percent more than in the same period of 2007, press release issued by the bank said.     

Assets of Eskhata Bank rose 117 percent in the year to July 1, 2008, exceeding 236 million somonis, according to press release. 

The bank’s own capital has nearly doubled over this period, reaching 47 million somonis.  As of July 1, 2007, the own capital of Eskhata Bank amounted to 24 million somonis.  

Compare to January-June 2007, the bank’s loan portfolio has increased by 140 percent and amounted to 138 million somonis.  

Deposit portfolio of Eskhata Bank has risen from 30 million on July 1, 2007 to 50 million somonis. 

Established in November 1993, a privately owned Eskhata Bank, with headquarters in Khujand, has eight branches and 100 money transfer outlets in various regions of the country.  The bank got operating license in 1994.
