DUSHANBE, August 21, 2008, Asia-Plus -- A delegation of the World Bank, led by Mr. Raghuveer Sharma, Lead Energy Specialist, is currently in Tajikistan to discuss with Tajik authorities issues related to enhancement of the country’s energy sector.
According to the World Bank Dushanbe Office, the purpose of the visit is for the delegation to monitor the progress of implementation of the WB-sponsored energy projects in Tajikistan.
Today, Mr. Raghuveer Sharma is scheduled to hold talks with President Emomali Rahmon, according to the WB Dushanbe Office.
During its stay in Tajikistan, the WB delegation has held a number of talks with heads of the ministries of energy and industries, finance, economic development and trade, as well as top managers of Barqi Tojik power holding.
