KHUAJND, September 4, 2008, Asia-Plus -- In the near future, the Khujand airport will be able to receive any type of aircraft.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Shuhrat Rahimov, a spokesman for the Khujand airport, said that lighting will be introduced into operation at the airport soon.
“Nine kilometers of power cable have been laid for introduction of the lighting into operation,” Rahimov said, noting that work on modernization of the lighting system is under way
The Khujand airport currently serves 36 domestic and 35 international flights per day, the spokesman said.
