DUSHANBE, October 6, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Officers from the police department in Khatlon’s Panj district has detained a 45-year-old Afghan national for drug pushing.
Mahmadullo Asadulloyev, a spokesman for the ministry of interior (MoI), told Asia-Plus today that the 45-year-old resident of Afghan Takhor province, Abdurashid valadi Abdurahim, was detained in the borer district of Panj at the end of last week. More than 7.5 kilograms of heroin were confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Abdurashid valadi Abdurahim under the provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Pena Code – illegally crossing the border and drug trafficking; an investigation is under way.
