DUSHANBE, October 6, 2008, Asia-Plus -- A two-day session of the Tajik-German commission for economic cooperation to open in Dushanbe on October 7.
Ghafourjon Rasoulov, a spokesman for the ministry of economic development and trade (MoEDT), told Asia-Plus on Monday that Tajikistan’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade Ghulomjon Bobozoda and Chairperson of the Department for Central Asia and South Caucasus within Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Development Marion Urban will co-chair the meeting.
Today, the German delegation is scheduled to visit the Norak hydroelectric power station and hold talks with Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdughaffor Rahmonov, the spokesman said.
According to a MoEDT, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Germany in January-August 2008 has valued at US$22.0671 million. This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to Germany estimated at US$214,100 and Tajikistan’s imports from Germany worth US$21.853 million.
