DUSHANBE, October 9, Asia-Plus -- On Tuesday October 7, German delegation led by Ms. Marion Urban, Chairperson of the Department for Central Asia and South Caucasus within Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), visited the Khatlon province to get acquainted with a progress of implementation of the KfW-sponsored projects in the province.
According to the National Social Invest Fund of Tajikistan (NSIFT), during its stay in Khatlon, the German delegation got acquainted with the progress of implementation of the “Community Funds for Supporting Development of Basic Education and Rehabilitation of Communal Infrastructure” Program, which is implemented by NSIFT in 14 districts of Khatlon and is sponsored by the German Development Bank (KfW Entwicklungsbank).
This visit is continuation of intergovernmental consultations that were conducted in Dushanbe in May this year and are currently conducted from October 6 to October 13, the NSIFT source said.
In Khatlon, members of the German delegation held talks with the Khatlon governor Ghaybullo Afzalov and other senior representatives from local authorities as well as familiarized themselves with the progress of a number of micro projects.
