DUSHANBE, November 7, 2008, Asia-Plus -- With introduction of the third unit of the Sangtuda-1 hydropower plant into operation, electricity supplies to residential customers and enterprises in the provinces have increased by one hour, according to Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding.
Barqi Tojik spokesman Nozir Yodgori announced on November 7 one-hour increase in electricity supplies to the provinces.
According to him, the measure has resulted in the supply of daily electricity being increased to seven hours – three hours of electricity in the morning (from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.) and four hours in the evening (from5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.). Before that, residential customers and enterprises in the provinces had received electricity supplies three hours in the morning (from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.) and three hours in the evening (from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.).
Dushanbe and other cities as well as regional administrative centers currently receive electricity supplies regularly, the spokesman said.
