KHUJAND, November 22, 2008, Asia-Plus -- A small 500 kW power plant Artouch has been launched on the Zarafshon River in Sughd’s Panjakent River.  

            Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Sughd energy and industries department head Sodiq Rustamov said that 32 small plants with a total capacity of 800 kW have operated in the Sughd province so far.  All of them are located in the Kuhistoni Mastchoh district.  

            “It is supposed to build two other small plants – one near the village of Marzich in the Ayni district and another one in Kuhistoni Mastchoh,” Rustamov said.
