DUSHANBE, November 22, 2008, Asia-Plus -- State and prospects of further expansion of economic and trade cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation were the focus of a meeting of Sharif Said, the head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), with Alexander Yakovlev, the head of Russian Trade Mission to Tajikistan, in Dushanbe on November 20, according to CCI press service.
In the course of the talks, the two pointed out the importance of expansion of economic cooperation between the regions of the two countries.
The CCI head noted that a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Russia might amount to 1 billion US dollars this year.
Tajik CCI and Russian trade mission plan sing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on mutual cooperation in the near future, the press service said.
