DUSHANBE, November 27, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Issues related to preparation of a state visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to Tajikistan were the focus of the talks Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi with his Turkish counterpart Ali Babacan in Dushanbe on November 26, according to the MFA information department.
As it had been reported earlier, Turkish president’s state visit to Tajikistan is scheduled for the spring of next year.
In the course of the talks, the two discussed a broad range of issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey as well as international and regional issues being of mutual interest.
The ministers high appraised the present level of the Tajik-Turkish relations in all spheres.
According to figures provided by the State Committee for Statistics, trade between Tajikistan and Turkey was estimated at some 260 million US dollars last year.
